President Donald Trump wants to nix the the Freedom 250 concert, and instead wants to hold a Make America Great Again Rally. His latest missive follows him initially recommending that he himself perform following the sudden exits of artists booked for the event dubbed the “Great American State Fair on National Mall” in Washington D.C.

“We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain,” he posted on Truth Social late Saturday afternoon. “Cancel it, just like I canceled my involvement with the failing and unsafe to be in Kennedy Center, because a Highly Conflicted, Crooked Federal Judge, said that I should not be allowed to spend my time and money in order to MAKE THE CENTER GREAT AGAIN, actually, far greater than it ever was before!”

It appears Trump is still sore about the ruling from U.S. District Judge Casey Cooper, who determined that the Kennedy Center “cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so” on Friday. The judge also ordered that officials remove any of the signage at the Kennedy Center that bears Trump’s name within two weeks.

Trump continued in his Saturday afternoon post, “It would have also been nice to see a Republican/Democrat union bring it back to life. The Kennedy Center is broken, unsafe, and $busted, and has been for many years! Judge Cooper also stated that the highly prestigious Board of the Center was not authorized to add on the name ‘TRUMP’ despite the fact that hundreds of millions of dollars of my time and money will be necessary for its successful reincarnation. So now, the Kennedy Center will collapse, both structurally and financially. Judge Cooper and his wife, Amy Jeffress (obfuscation anyone?), should be ashamed of themselves. Judge Cooper, like numerous other Crooked Judges on my cases, should be IMPEACHED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

On Wednesday, the Freedom 250 concert — organized by Keith Krach, an appointee of President Trump — announced their strange lineup for the event, which included the likes of Martina McBride, Flo Rida and the Commodores alongside Nineties groups like Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice.

Soon after the lineup announcement, many of the booked acts — including Morris Day and the Time and Young MC — revealed they would not partake in the Freedom 250 concert. “It’s a no for me,” Day wrote on social media.

Young MC told VIBE on Thursday, “I had no clue it was considered a ‘Trump-backed’ event, so that was new to me,” the rapper says. “My whole thing was ‘tell me what the event is, what it’s about, who you are, and then give me the choice of whether I want to do the event or not.’ I was never given that choice. I was told one thing and then it was a bait-and-switch. All the comments I’ve seen from the artists that have dropped out thought it was supposed to be a regular show in D.C.”

By the end of the week, Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, and the Commodores had also exited the concert series, which was scheduled to run from June 25 to July 10 at the National Mall.

Shortly after returning to office, Trump created a task force to prepare for the 250th anniversary of the the country’s founding, making himself the chair of the task force and Vice President J.D. Vance its vice chair.

Sturgill Simpson’s ‘Got That Hunter Biden Energy’ — and Hunter’s a Fan

Sturgill Simpson’s latest album as Johnny Blue Skies, Mutiny After Midnight, is a disco-fried country rock meditation on all things sex and politics. It offers up the theory that sex is the cure for all that ails us, as individuals and as a society, and does so with genuine sincerity, but also lots of freaky little jokes and one-liners. One of the funniest appears on “Make America Fuk Again,” the album’s opener and thesis statement, in which Simpson drawls, “I’m a sensitive boy when push comes to shove/I got that Hunter Biden energy/I’ll make a hooker fuck around and fall in love.”

Graham Platner Wins Maine Senate Primary. Now Comes the Hard Part

It’s official: the Democrats are heading to the midterms with an oysterman from Maine.

Graham Platner, the dark horse candidate who bulldozed his way past Governor Janet Mills, the Democratic Party’s preferred candidate for Senate, won the state’s barely contested primary on Tuesday night despite a laundry list of scandals and controversies. Unless those crises compound enough to force Platner to drop out of the race, he’ll go to the polls in November as the Democrats’ best hope for retaking the Senate, in a highly competitive race with incumbent Senator Susan Collins.

New York was having a little too much fun celebrating the Knicks’ first NBA Finals appearance since 1999 — so Donald Trump had to crash the party.

The president threw Midtown Manhattan and Madison Square Garden into logistical chaos on Monday after announcing last week that he would be attending Game 3 of the Finals in person. During the singing of the National Anthem, Trump was loudly booed out by the fans in attendance.

MAGA Thinks Fraud Is the Only Way Republican Could Lose Race in L.A.

Fox News viewers and right-wing social media addicts are positively shocked that Spencer Pratt — the MAGA aligned former reality TV star attempting — is on his way to being eliminated from the Los Angeles mayoral primary, despite the city’s overwhelmingly Democratic electorate. Pratt currently trails incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and LA City Council member Nithya Raman in a primary out of which only two candidates will advance..

Conservative news outlets and talking heads have spent the past few weeks trying to convince people that Pratt, a former star on The Hills and tabloid staple, was a shoe-in for the Los Angeles mayoral general election by an unbeatable margin. This is not the case. In Calirfornia’s open primary system, which sees candidates of all parties run in a single pool with the top two advancing to the general, polling consistently showed Pratt was locked in a tight race for second with Raman, with late surveys giving Raman the edge. Raman surged in front of Pratt over the weekend as ballots continue to be counted.

Trump Scraps Failed Freedom 250 Concerts, Makes Himself Headliner of ‘Greatest Rally, EVER’

After a slew of artists dropped out of the Freedom 250 concert series upon learning about organizers’ ties to Donald Trump, the president announced on Thursday that he would be replacing the shows with a rally headlined by none other than … himself.

His announcement comes after he urged for the concerts’ cancellation and pitched that he himself perform following the sudden exits of artists. The rally will still include music, however, and feature Eighties country singer Lee Greenwood, who wrote the patriotic hit “God Bless the U.S.A.”
