Canadian rock veterans Triumph have cancelled the remaining dates of their 2026 Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded tour, also putting an end to a highly anticipated run of concerts with fellow Canadian rock band April Wine. The tour had started last spring.
The announcement was made October 30, less than three weeks before the second leg was scheduled to begin. Triumph cited "sudden and unexpected medical circumstances affecting the band" as the reason for the cancellations, explaining that the situation prevented its members from rehearsing and moving forward with the scheduled performances.
The group did not identify which member or members were affected, but offered some reassurance to fans, saying the outlook was positive and that it hoped to return to the stage as soon as possible.
April Wine were scheduled to open for Triumph on this tour. The band had been announced as the special guest for all 16 American dates of the second leg, scheduled to run from November 17 through December 12. The two groups were also set to play back-to-back Ontario concerts on December 18 at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa and December 19 at Canada Life Place in London.April Wine still have performances scheduled for 2027, including January concerts in Peterborough and Ottawa, followed by a February 4 show at Montréal's Théâtre Beanfield. Further Canadian dates are planned in Niagara Falls, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Halifax and Moncton in March.
The joint tour was part of Triumph's 50th-anniversary celebrations. Its first leg reportedly sold more than 135,000 tickets, prompting the addition of the second round of performances. It was the band's first tour in 33 years.
Tickets for the cancelled concerts will be refunded automatically through the original point of purchase. Neither band has announced replacement dates.
