MTG Says Trump Is a ‘Convicted Felon’ Just Like Jesus

The MAGA speakers who preceded Donald Trump at his Las Vegas rally evoked religious language to describe their leader. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene compared Trump to Jesus, saying that the messiah was also “a convicted felon.”

“The Democrats and the fake news media want to constantly talk about ‘President Trump is a convicted felon,'” the congresswoman told the crowd. “Well, you want to know something? The man that I worship is also a convicted felon. And he was murdered on a Roman cross.”

This isn’t Greene’s first time saying Trump is just like Jesus. On the day of Trump’s New York arrest in April 2023, Greene told Right Side Broadcasting Network, “Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus — Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government.”

She continued, “There have been many people throughout history that have been arrested and persecuted by radical, corrupt governments, and it’s beginning today in New York City. I just can’t believe it’s happening, but I’ll always support him. He’s done nothing wrong.”

Another speaker at Trump’s Vegas rally, Nevada Republican Party Chair Michael McDonald, likened Trump to God. “What more can be said than, thank God we’re here in Sunset Park to worship and bring back the greatest president we’ve ever known in our generation.”

Attendees at the rally will need a miracle if they want to keep cool. Las Vegas temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees on Sunday, and many rally seats appear to be in areas with little to no shade. Rally organizers are handing out water bottles as attendees wait in line to help prevent dehydration. The campaign told The Washington Post that “ample medical staff will be present.” They added that “limited tent space with shade and air conditioning” will be available “on a first-come, first-served basis.”

According to Climate Central, human-caused climate change is responsible for the recent unusually warm temperatures in the southwest United States. Trump, however, has repeatedly denied the impact of climate change.

When Trump spoke in Phoenix last Thursday, temperatures reached 110 degrees in the city, and 11 people were transported to the hospital with heat exhaustion, according to fire department officials.

How Trump Made America’s 250th Anniversary About Himself: An Incomplete List

Donald Trump’s favorite thing about America is that he lives in it. It’s hard to point to a president that wasn’t self-absorbed, of course — Obama had an ego on him, as well — but “President DJT,” as he signs his tweets, takes personal pride to a new level.

Trump has put his personal stamp on every American institution within his reach, and the celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary, known confusingly as the semiquincentennial, is no exception. Instead of a celebration of the country, Trump’s “Freedom 250” celebrations honor a particular vision of America — one set by one man, organized largely to boost his ego and flex his power over our political system and way of life.

It’s the Corruption, Stupid

It’s the Corruption, Stupid

Let’s say it plainly: There has never been a president as corrupt as Donald Trump. There is no close second in our history.

Take two days in May as Exhibit A. Americans just found out that in the first quarter of this year, Trump’s stock portfolio made 3,600 trades — an average of nearly 60 a day. This is a rapacious pace that would make a day trader on meth blush. Many of these appear suspiciously timed to benefit from actions approved by the president himself. For example, his Nvidia stock surged after Trump announced the company would be permitted to sell its cutting-edge AI chips to China. Similar suspiciously well-timed calls were made ahead of big government moves involving other companies, from Intel to Palantir to Boeing. The Trump Organization says all trades are made by a third-party investment advisor. If so, they appear to be psychic.

‘Incredible Guy’ Xi Jinping Softens Trump Up With Chinese Pageantry

President Donald Trump had a wonderful time on his big trip to China. After all, what’s not to like?

In a series of meetings with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Trump delivered a stunning highlight reel of flawless international diplomacy, breathlessly praising the competing global superpower at every turn while largely brushing off contentious issues like trade, cybersecurity concerns, Taiwan’s right to self determination, and China’s support for Iran. The art of the deal in action.

How Trump’s Family Is Cashing in on His Presidency

“FOUNDATION FUTURE INDUSTRIES LANDS $24 MILLION PENTAGON CONTRACT” screamed the Fox Business Network chyron Thursday morning. Host Maria Bartiromo teed up her segment, explaining that the defense tech startup was developing “autonomous humanoid robots” to help troops “breach enemy sites more safely.”

Bartiromo’s guest? Eric Trump, Foundation Future Industries’ chief strategy adviser who also happens to be the son of the man in charge of the government that doled out the eight-figure contract. The host congratulated Trump and Foundation Future’s founder Sankaet Pathat — also a guest — on landing such a lucrative payday. No mention was made of the clear ethics quandary involved in the president’s administration funneling millions in taxpayer funds toward his family through federal contracts. Then again, the amount given to Foundation Future is barely a drop in the swimming pool of wealth the Trump family has accumulated by leveraging their patriarch’s position over the last 18 months. They clearly feel no need to hide.
