Megan Thee Stallion and Yuki Chiba have dropped a sexy and sinister new video for their viral hit, “Mamushi.”
The video was filmed in Japan and also stars the actor, Shô Kasamatsu, who’s appeared in shows like Tokyo Vice and Gannibal. Kasamatsu plays a patron who shows up to a very exclusive and steamy-looking spa, where Megan ostensibly works, but really finds her victims.
Throughout the clip, Meg transforms into a giant snake — mamushi is a venomous pit viper found in Japan — that attacks the less-than-savory patrons while Chiba helps her dispose of the bodies. Though it’s possible the whole thing was just a dream, as Kasamatsu’s character wakes up in a hot bath at the end to see Meg strutting away with a giant snake tattoo covering her back.
“Mamushi” appears on Megan Thee Stallion’s latest album, Megan, and has gone viral on TikTok thanks to a dance set to the bilingual chorus. Last month, Meg brought out Chiba to deliver the live debut of the song at her show at London’s O2 Arena.
That concert also marked the end of Megan’s Hot Girl Summer tour with GloRilla. She did play a couple of gigs after returning to the States, though, including a performance at a rally for vice president Kamala Harris, as well as a headlining set at Lollapalooza.
Megan Thee Stallion dropped her new album in June, marking her first LP since 2022’s Traumazine. “Mamushi” is actually one of several snake-themed songs on the record, with all the others also being singles — “Cobra,” “Hiss,” and “Boa.”
