The Paris Olympics games, which began on July 26, have attracted a number of celebrity attendees: some like Tyla and Lady Gaga who were invited to perform, whereas others like Tom Cruise and Spike Lee showed up in support of the American teams.
During “The Prelude to the Olympics,” Steven Spielberg, Mick Jagger, Spike Lee, Zendaya, Snoop Dogg Jeremy Allen White, Alan Cumming, and Charlize Theron were among the familiar faces to attend the pre-Olympics celebration. Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director, was also in attendance and handpicked artists for the party’s art installations. During the party, Tyla held a surprise performance singing club bangers “Jump” and “Water.”
Before the USA women’s and men’s gymnastics team earned their gold and bronze medals respectively, a sea of celebrities flooded the sidelines. Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Natalie Portman, Serena Williams, Spike Lee all attended the high-pressure women’s gymnastics team final on Tuesday.
Earlier in the week, fans flocked to take pictures with Cruise during a women’s gymnastics qualifying match. Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who have appeared together at such events as the Met Gala and the Super Bowl, rooted for the American team. Nick Jonas, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Jessica Chastain also watched the qualifying game.
Over on the Roland Garros Stadium Monday, Baz Luhrmann and Anna Wintour tuned into a tennis match between Spain’s Rafael Nadal and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, while a spirited Queen Latifah supported Team USA’s swimming team.
If you’ve been following the Olympics, you probably watched Snoop Dogg earn his Olympic stripes during a 200-meter exhibition run, serve as torch bearer to kick off the summer games, or wear several custom T-shirts showcasing his favorite American athletes. On Wednesday, Snoop attended a beach volleyball game, wearing none other than a tracksuit featuring American beach volleyball player Kelly Cheng.
Team USA currently leads the medal count with 27 medals, including four gold medals and 12 silver. The Olympic games conclude Aug. 11.
