After two years, Drake fans can rejoice, the embattled rapper has finally released his new album Iceman featuring cameos from Shane Gillis and DJ Akademiks.

At the end of the Iceman livestream, Drake pulled out three hard drives, and text on the screen revealed: “I made this so that I could make this.” Another display showed the title of two more surprise albums: Habibti and Maid Of Honour. All three LPs simultaneously dropped on Friday.

The back-to-back records arrive with mountains of anticipation, as Drake’s first solo album after his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar, whose diss track “Not Like Us” won multiple Grammys and reframed the chart-topping rapper’s public image for the worst.

After years of speculation, the album offers fans a window into how Drake felt about the highly publicized battle. The LP features production from longtime collaborator Noah “40” Shebib as well as a host of names including Overkst, OK, and more. Future and rising star Mollysantana show up as well. Previous episodes of Drake’s livestream included the songs “What Did I Miss?” as well as “National Treasure,” which both appear on the album.

Drake does not mince words about his feelings on Lamar and the earth-rattling diss track “Not Like Us,” which cast Drake as a “Certified Pedophile.” An understandably angered Drake takes multiple opportunities to poke at Kendrick’s public image with lines like “White kids listen to you cuz they feelin’ some guilt,” as well as lines appearing to claim that 100 million streams for Lamar disappeared from the count, contributing to his ongoing claims that UMG engaged in fraudulent bot-ing to boost the song’s popularity.

Other lines like, “Your baby momma ain’t even post a single, damn, where she at?” re-hash the claims made in Drake’s string of diss tracks from 2024. He also appears to claim that members of Kendrick’s team attempted to bury the hatchet. “You saw my brother, you was tryna fix it, now you drop your album and you back dissing,” Drake raps.

Iceman lands in the long shadow of the industry-wide beef that began with Metro Boomin and Future’s “We Don’t Trust You,” and the single “Like That,” featuring Lamar.

Rihanna Shooting Suspect Battles Her Own Lawyer’s Bid for Competency Evaluation

The woman accused of firing 20 shots from an AR-15-style rifle at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills-area home appeared in court Wednesday and pushed back against her public defender’s request that the criminal case be suspended for a competency evaluation.

Ivanna Ortiz, 35, told the court she wanted to move forward and set a probable cause hearing as soon as possible, despite her court-appointed lawyer raising doubt about her mental capacity. Los Angeles County Judge Shannon Cooley ruled there was not enough evidence to override Ortiz’s wishes, but she offered to assist the defense by signing an order to obtain records from the jail.

Foo Fighters Bring Massive Hits to Their First-Ever Tiny Desk

Somehow NPR’s Tiny Desk managed to accommodate all six Foo Fighters on a recent office visit, where the group played a five-song set of hits and their Your Favorite Toy single, “Spit Shine,” which they opened with. The cluttered environment seemed to have no effect on the band, which is used to playing spacious stadium stages, as frontman Dave Grohl leaned into the mic to snarl, “You know I don’t really give a damn,” before the band took over with some melodic backing vocals. When they finished, they simply smiled, and Grohl joked about how the microphone is “the hardest instrument of them all to play.”
