Britney Spears‘ rep has addressed reports that the singer was “erratic” and walking around with a knife during a night out at dinner recently, claiming the purported events were being “completely blown out of proportion.”

“Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard,” the spokesperson said in a statement provided to Rolling Stone on Thursday. ”She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half.”

The denial comes on the heels of entertainment journalist Jeffrey Sneider sharing on X Wednesday evening that he had dinner next to Spears, remarking that it was a “wild experience.” After Spears left the Sherman Oaks restaurant with her group in tow, Sneider said, “everyone in the restaurant turned and started talking about it. An INSANE dining experience. One diner feared for her life. This is not a joke.”

By Thursday morning, TMZ claimed it had the full details of what occurred, reporting that over a simple meal of a hamburger and fries, Spears raised her voice, screamed, and barked. At one point, Spears allegedly walked around the restaurant while holding a knife and tried to light up a cigarette near the front door.

Spears’ representative denied any suggestion that she was acting dangerously. “This constant attack on everything that she does, and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person,” they added. “This is ridiculous, and it needs to stop now.”

Last month, Spears pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of wet reckless after she was arrested in March on a suspected DUI charge. She voluntarily — and briefly — checked herself into a treatment facility. As part of her plea deal, Spears agreed to a 12-month probation period, regular meetings with a psychologist and a psychiatrist, as well as completing a three-month DUI class.

“I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey,” Spears wrote in an Instagram post from Saturday, her first public comments in more than a month. “All a blessing in disguise.”

Everything We Know About Drake's 'Iceman' So Far

For the first time in years, a new Drake album arrives carrying genuine uncertainty.

Iceman, the Toronto rapper’s ninth solo studio album, is set to release tomorrow, May 15, after months of cryptic teasers, livestreams, public stunts and relentless speculation. Under normal circumstances, a Drake release would already dominate the conversation by sheer scale alone.

This time, though, the album also arrives in the shadow of his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar, which reshaped the public perception around one of rap’s biggest stars.

He Faced a Wave of Loss in Recent Years, But This New York Punk Never Gave Up

Julian Pratt, frontman for punk-rap bruisers Show Me the Body, has a simple request: Show us the pigeons.

The shaven-headed 32-year-old vocalist and banjoist is tromping through Astoria Park, a verdant stretch of Queens along New York’s East River, with his two-year-old daughter, Surey, on the hunt for the city’s most famous wildlife. But since it’s an unusually chilly Friday, at least for May, the city’s famously ample winged rats seem scarce. Luckily, Pratt came prepared. Pratt runs deep with New York’s pigeon community; picture Marlon Brando traipsing through rooftop coops in On the Waterfront, and you’ll get the idea. So he knows where to buy 20 pounds of feed, and he brought a pound or two with him.

Paris Jackson has won her bid to force three lawyers to return $625,000 in bonuses paid by John Branca, the executor of her father’s estate.

In a 23-page ruling, unsealed Tuesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, the retired judge, who long presided over Michael Jackson’s probate case and is now serving as a private referee on the complex case, granted Paris’ motion to claw back the 2018 payments. They include $250,000 to Jay Cooper of Greenberg Traurig, $125,000 to Jeryll Cohen of Saul Ewing, and $250,000 to the late, lead estate lawyer Howard Weitzman of Kinsella Holley Iser Kump Steinsapir.

Aaron Carter’s Family Reaches Settlement With Psychiatry Clinic Over Xanax Prescriptions

A settlement has been reached in the wrongful death lawsuit between Aaron Carter‘s family and a Los Angeles psychiatry clinic that prescribed the singer Xanax.

Amen Clinics will pay a “confidential sum” as a “full and final resolution” of the allegations against both the clinic and one of its psychiatrists, Dr. John Faber, according to court documents filed on May 12 and obtained by Billboard. The settlement’s value is “within the ballpark” of the damages Carter’s family sought, which was less than $325,000, per the filing.
