Zayn shared a new single, “Sideways.” The intimate R&B number is the latest offering from the musician’s forthcoming album, Konnakol, out on April 17 via Mercury Records.

The track sees Zayn reflecting on a lost romance. “I miss lookin’ at you sideways/Face to face with your lips on mine,” he croons. “And our legs on the pillowcase/Sideways, late at night, with your love lying next to mine.”

Konnakol follows the 2024 release of Room Under the Stairs, the stripped-back record Zayn created with collaborator Dave Cobb. Zayn released the album’s emotive lead single, “Die for Me,” last month. The LP was co-produced by Zayn alongside Malay, who he previously worked with on Mind of Mine and Icarus Falls.

“’Konnakol,’ in its definition, is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice, but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed,” Zayn said in a statement. “I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go.”

Zayn will embark on the Konnakol tour in support of the album. The global 31-date tour kicks off on May 12 in Manchester, England, at AO Arena before heading to cities like London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and São Paulo. It wraps on Nov. 20 in Miami at Kaseya Center.

The singer is one of several One Direction members to release new music this year. In January, Louis Tomlinson shared his latest LP, How Did I Get Here?, which features the single “Imposter.” Harry Styles released his new solo album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., earlier this month and appeared on Saturday Night Live to support the LP.

Watch BTS Perform ‘Swim’ in the Guggenheim Museum on ‘Fallon’

BTS took over The Tonight Show last night, appearing as the musical guest and sitting down for a lengthy interview with host Jimmy Fallon. Instead of performing from the late-night show’s studio, BTS took over New York City’s Guggenheim Museum to showcase the track, which comes off their new LP, Arirang.

The performance marked the TV debut of “Swim,” a reflective number with a propulsive beat. The band members appeared in different levels of the Guggenheim before joining forces on a circular stage on the museum’s ground floor.

Security Guard Takes ‘Full Responsibility’ in Chappell Roan Hotel Fiasco

The security guard who appears to be at the center of a debacle involving pop star Chappell Roan and soccer player Jorginho’s stepdaughter took to social media to clarify that he was not part of Roan’s team and was acting independently.

“I do not normally address online rumors, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation,” Pascal Duvier began in his statement. “I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan. The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.”

Inside Sublime’s ‘Until the Sun Explodes,’ Their First New Album Since 1996

For the first time since 1996, Sublime will release a brand-new album, Until the Sun Explodes, June 12, with Jakob Nowell — the late Bradley Nowell‘s son — on vocals alongside original members Eric Wilson on bass and Bud Gaugh on drums. Jakob, who originally imagined a more limited involvement with the band when he first signed on in 2023, tells Rolling Stone that he kept finding himself deeper and deeper in.

“It’s kind of like being a drug addict,” says Jakob, who got sober in 2017. “You’re like, ‘Oh, I drink, but I don’t do coke.’ And it’s like, ‘OK, I do blow, but I would never do blank.’ And then you just keep going. I was like, ‘Well, I’ll sing one of the songs, but I’ll never join the band. OK, I’ll join the band, but I’m not going to step on people’s toes and write a new record.'” He laughs. “And so I’m like, God, where am I? What am I doing?”
