2025 was a big year for the Trudeau boys. Justin, the former Prime minister of Canada, started dating megastar Katy Perry after a date in Montréal, while his son Xavier launched his music career under the name Xav.

The aspiring musician recently sat down with content creator G Hobs to test Drake's new OVO Meal collab with McDonald's. In the short clip, the pair talk about Drake, and Xav explains he has met the 6 God a few times.


''First time was at a Raptors game'', he said. More recently, he added, he was invited to Drake's son Adonis' birthday party in Toronto. ''I introduced myself, and he was like, 'Oh, yeah, I've listened to your music, keep doing your thing''', Xav said.

He also talked about his new stepmother, Katy Perry, whom he describes as 'cool' and 'nice'. ''We talked for hours, talking about my music'', though he concedes he never spoke with her about her trip to space.

The 18 year-old released his debut EP, When Does it End?, last summer.

The Internet Is Getting Meaner. Slushy Noobz Are Keeping It Fun

Slushy Noobz fans inhabit something of an inner sanctum, fluent in the Toronto-based YouTube channel’s running jokes and lore. The channel, launched in 2023 by Hamzah Al-Emad, 24, and Martin Andrijasevic, 27, grew out of the pair’s friendship and a shared love of old-school gaming videos, and features everything from Minecraft role-play to restaurant reviews, road trips, and increasingly elaborate real-world challenges. On a Zoom call from a hostel room, midway through a cross-Canada livestream tour, Andrijasevic puts it more simply: “Finding entertainment in the mundane, that’s all we do.”

As members of a generation raised on YouTube, Slushy Noobz feels quietly subversive. While online entertainment aimed at young men increasingly rewards nihilism, cruelty, and humiliation (see Clavicular), Al-Emad and Andrijasevic are refreshingly normal: two friends hanging out and paying close enough attention for the banal to become strange. Before Slushy Noobz, both made short-form videos on their own. They talked through DMs, became online friends, and eventually met in person. Andrijasevic was living in Ottawa; he later moved to Toronto so they could make videos more regularly. Their early videos revived the spirit of 2010s-era YouTube: two grown men playing video games and treating a newly adopted dog like the center of an elaborate mythology. Other days, they wandered Toronto with an iPhone or simply turned on the camera while they were already hanging out. The channel now has more than 1.5 million YouTube subscribers.

Reid told CBC News that the decision was driven by a desire to give back to the community that supported her long before her romance novels became a global success. "I had to do it because I don't know what the point is of being a successful author in Nova Scotia if you're not going to use it for good," she said.

Perez Hilton Is Receiving Inpatient Treatment, Family Says

Perez Hilton is now receiving inpatient medical care after being hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act following an overdose and an incident in which he livestreamed acts of self-harm on TikTok.

His family shared the news in a new statement on the blogger’s website. “Perez remains hospitalized and is receiving the medical care he needs,” the post read. “His treatment is continuing in an inpatient setting under the care of a dedicated team of medical and mental health professionals.”
