The posh life of Victoria Beckham will soon get the Netflix docuseries treatment. An as-yet-untitled look at the Spice Girl’s fashion and beauty businesses is set to begin production, the streaming service announced. Beckham, her family, and close confidants will speak to her “fashion journey” to becoming her own brand’s creative director, according to the network, and display artifacts from her archive that have not appeared in public. The streaming service’s announcement did not mention Beckham’s history with music or the constant gaze of paparazzi that has surveyed her private life for the past 25 years. No run date has been set.

Nicola Howson, who produced the Netflix docuseries Beckham about Victoria’s soccer star husband David, will also produce the Victoria docuseries. Beckham was well received, earning multiple BAFTA and Emmy nominations, and a clip in which the couple argued about Victoria’s family roots went viral (chagrining David). Julia Nottingham (Pamela: A Love Story; The Greatest Night in Pop) will also produce.

Beckham, who rose to prominence with the Spice Girls in the Nineties with the nickname Posh Spice, launched Victoria Beckham Ltd. with a line of dresses developed at an eponymous atelier in 2008. The company has since expanded its offerings to ready-to-wear fashion, eyewear, and leather goods. The brand describes its aesthetic as “a considered blend of classic British luxury with a subtle contemporary flair.”

The artist reunited with her fellow Spices earlier this year at her 50th birthday party in April. The quintet joined forces for a rendition of the 1997 Spiceworld hit “Stop,” which David Beckham filmed. This follows Britain’s Royal Mail honoring the quintet with a line of postage stamps earlier this year.

A Los Angeles grand jury has indicted Nick Reiner on charges he murdered his parents, the celebrated Hollywood director Rob Reiner and photographer-philanthropist Michele Reiner, last December in the family’s Brentwood home.

The indictment, unsealed Wednesday, allows prosecutors to bypass a public preliminary hearing where they otherwise would have to present witness testimony to persuade a judge there’s enough probable cause to warrant a trial. After the secret indictment was unsealed, Nick pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait, prosecutors said. He also faces a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife. His next hearing is set for Sept. 15.

Tiffany Haddish lit up with one of her signature smiles Tuesday when a judge said she would serve “no more jail time” after pleading guilty to a single count of driving under the influence in Georgia.

The actress and comedian appeared by video at the court hearing in Fayette County as she accepted responsibility for the January 2022 incident where someone called 911 about a driver asleep at the wheel at a traffic light. In video of the hearing, obtained by The Associated Press, Haddish grinned broadly as the judge said all other charges would be dropped, based on the recommendation of prosecutors.

Is ‘Tony’ a True Story? Sort Of

Even when he was alive, there was a sense of lore that surrounded Anthony Bourdain. He had the allure of someone with a true mythology, which he offered up throughout his writing and TV shows. His memoir Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, released in 2000, established much of what we know about him — his early years in New York City kitchens, his drug use, his willingness to reveal tricks of the trade. The book famously recounted the three summers he spent in Provincetown, Massachusetts, as a young man, one of his earliest legends.

That time period is the focal point of Tony, a biopic of sorts from Canadian writer-director Matt Johnson. Dominic Sessa stars as Tony, a surly 19-year-old not yet formed into the Bourdain we have since anointed into culinary sainthood. Although the film is sanctioned by the Bourdain estate, the coming-of-age tale isn’t overly concerned with facts. Instead, Johnson conjures the same feelings one might have looking back at their own early years.
