The Mac Miller Estate shared a new Mac Miller song, “Butterflies.” The track will appear on The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary), out Oct. 2, along with two other previously-unheard songs. The titles of the other new tracks have not been announced.

“Butterflies” was produced by Taylor Graves and features bass by Miller’s longtime collaborator Thundercat and trumpet by Daniel Hardaway. The hypnotic, mid-tempo number sees Miller intoning about a possible love connection: “Better drive slow/ If you wanna take a ride on the high road/ And your mind so passionate, your love what I’m after and/ That feelin’ so unfamiliar, I only imagine it/ Dream girl, you’re my make-believe girl.”

Along with the single, the estate launched a new Mac Miller website, designed in conjunction with James Musgrave and Kate Doyle for XXIX. The site is an interactive tribute to the life and work of the rapper, who died in 2018, and features archival media contributed by friends and colleagues from throughout the years.

Miller released The Divine Feminine, his fourth LP, in 2016. It featured collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, CeeLo Green, Ty Dolla Sign, and Ariana Grande, who notably appeared one of the album’s singles, “My Favorite Part.” The album notably received mediocre reviews. Rolling Stone wrote, “Miller’s grown-ass beats clash with his juvenile boasts (“I just eat pussy, other people need food”), so he often ends up sounding like a well-meaning kid who can’t stop putting his kicks up on the fancy furniture.”

The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary) is available for pre-order now.

‘I’m Not Allowed to Drive’: Billy Joel Shares Health Update as He Prepares to Sell Vintage Motorcycles

Last year, Billy Joel stepped away from the stage after being diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, canceling his previously scheduled 2025-2026 tour. At the time, a statement on his website explained that the brain disorder had “been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance” and that he was undergoing physical therapy under his doctor’s instructions.

On Thursday, the singer shared an update about his health during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and said that at the moment, he’s not allowed to drive. When discussing when he would perform again, Joel said, “I have to take a series of tests before I know,” adding, “I can’t drive right now. I’m not allowed to drive.” He said a neurologist informed him that “every time you do a show, it’s like you’re getting a concussion.”

Bun B on Being Sampled for Drake’s Ella Langley Remake: ‘The Stars Aligned’

About a month ago, Bun B was up late with the rest of the world, watching the online premiere of Drake’s short film Fear of Missing Out. At least, he caught the beginning of the midnight livestream. “I fell asleep, and then my phone started going off,” recalls the Texas rap legend. “And it’s my nieces calling me: ‘Uncle Bun, the song is on. The song is on!’”

The song in question was Drake’s long-promised remake of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” featuring Houston’s own Don Toliver. And Bun B’s nieces were excited because that remake — which is now a Top 10 hit in its own right, titled “Solar Eclipse,” after its official release this month on a deluxe edition of the Habibti album — also features a prominent sample of their uncle’s 2005 classic “Get Throwed,” with its signature descending bass riff.

Grammy Family Feuds: Six Times Relatives Competed for the Same Award

It’s notoriously difficult to predict how the fine people at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will assess the past year when Grammy nominations are revealed on Nov. 16., considering voters’ rocky history — remember when Bonnie Raitt’s supremely under-the-radar “Just Like That” won Song of the Year in 2023 over Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” and Taylor Swift’s 10-minute “All Too Well”? But there’s a strong scenario that we’ll see something historic in the Best New Artist category this year if pop songwriter Audrey Hobert and R&B singer Malcolm Todd are both nominated.

They’re signed to different labels and have pretty different fan bases, but they are brother and sister. And if they’re nominated, it would be the first time in Grammy history that two siblings have faced off against each other in that category.
