Everyone’s favorite anthropomorphized bear returns to the big screen this fall with Paddington in Peru, the third film in the series based on the beloved children’s book.
The movie finds the titular doll-sized bear (who was born in “darkest Peru,” as author Michael Bond once wrote) and his human family journeying to the titular South American country and embarking on a mission into the rain forest to find Paddington’s missing aunt. The new trailer gives glimpses of the adventure, as well as an extended clip of Paddington’s comical attempts to take a passport photo:
“Paddington in Peru brings Paddington’s story to Peru as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears,” the film’s synopsis states. “With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.”
The film’s cast includes Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville — reprising his role as Paddington’s adoptive father, Henry Brown — and Emily Mortimer (taking over for Sally Hawkins, who played Mary Brown in the first two films), with Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters also returning from the previous films. New additions include Antonio Banderas as a ship captain and Olivia Colman as a nun at the retired bears home. Ben Winshaw and Imelda Staunton also return as the voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy, respectively.
Paddington in Peru takes over theaters on November 8.
