Brit Awards 2024 Nominations: Raye Makes History as Most Nominated Artist

The nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards have been unveiled, with Raye making history as the most nominated artist in the same year. The singer, who released her acclaimed album My 21st Century Blues last year, scored nods for Best British Album, Song Of The Year (twice), British Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act, Best R&B Act, and Best New Artist.

It’s a huge achievement for the singer, who openly told Rolling Stone UK last year how she shook off the shackles of a record label that didn’t want to release her debut record before she ditched them to become an independent artist.

Elsewhere, there are four nominations for J Hus, including Album of the Year (Beautiful and Brutal Yard), British Artist of The Year, Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act, and Song of the Year (‘Who Told You’ featuring Drake). Little Simz, meanwhile, has three nominations.

It’s a packed field in Song of the Year, too, with 15 nominations, including the likes of Central Cee with ‘Let Go’ and Dua Lipa with ‘Dance The Night’.

It’s also been confirmed that Dua Lipa will perform on the night. You can check out the nominations in full below.

Michael Jackson Estate Wins Round as Judge Orders Arbitration in Cascio Siblings Trafficking Case

The four adult Cascio siblings who allege Michael Jackson sexually abused them on interstate or international trips when they were minors have lost their bid for a public trial of their child sex trafficking claims and must instead go to private arbitration with Jackson’s estate, a federal judge has ruled.

In a 10-page ruling obtained by Rolling Stone, U.S. District Judge Hernán D. Vera granted the estate’s motion to compel arbitration, finding the arbitration agreement included in a 2019 settlement with the siblings was enforceable. The four siblings had argued that the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021 invalidated the agreement, but the judge said the EFAA didn’t apply retroactively.

‘Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear’: Six Things We Learned About the Drummer’s Hard Life

Travis Barker didn’t want to do this documentary. He’d been filming Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear since 2017, chronicling his life dealing with the debilitating effects of post-traumatic stress disorder since surviving a plane crash nine years earlier. In an incident that made national headlines at the time, the Blink-182 drummer and three friends were in a private jet, heading home from Columbia, South Carolina, when the landing gear burst into flames. Two of his best friends were killed. A third passenger, his close friend and collaborator DJ AM, died a year later of an overdose. Barker was in intense emotional and physical pain. He was suicidal. He wasn’t sure he’d ever make it back.

Sean Combs Sues Lil Rod for Defamation, Selling Footage to Netflix

Sean Combs has countersued accuser Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones for allegedly “stealing” the music mogul’s personal documentary footage and selling it to Netflix for the streamer’s 50 Cent-produced docuseries.

In a lengthy complaint filed Tuesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, Combs also claimed that Jones made a number of defamatory statements in the four-part special, which aired December 2025 and was recently nominated for three Emmys.

Watch Ritchie Blackmore Reunite With Deep Purple For ‘Smoke on the Water’

A moment that Deep Purple fans have waited 33 years took place near the end of the band’s set at Jones Beach, New York on Wednesday evening when frontman Ian Gillan addressed the crowd.

“I’ve gotta say something,” he said. “A couple of days ago, I got a letter from this man saying, ‘I only live around the corner. Do you mind if I come and jam with you?’ And it was an absolute pleasure to have back onstage, the founder member, the great legend, the immortal, Ritchie Blackmore!”
