The late Punjabi icon’s 14th posthumous single arrives on the heels of his hologram tour's Canadian dates.

Sidhu Moose Wala’s Legacy Grows With Posthumous Bohemia Collaboration ‘Kaali Hoodie’

Sidhu Moose Wala's music continues to reach listeners with the release of "Kaali Hoodie," a new posthumous track featuring Pakistani-American rapper Bohemia.

Released on October 16, the hard-hitting 2.5 minute track garnered over 700,000 views on YouTube within the first two hours. Produced by long-time collaborator The Kidd, the song marks the 14th posthumous release from the visionary Punjabi artist since his tragic death in May 2022, reflecting the continued demand for his unreleased music.

"Kaali Hoodie" reunites Moose Wala with Bohemia, following their 2021 collaboration "These Days" from Moosetape. Both artists are credited as the song's singers, lyricists and composers. The track follows "Ghostface Killah," the 13th posthumous release, which arrived in September.

The release coincides with the renewed attention surrounding Moose Wala’s Signed to God World Tour, a hologram-based production recreating the singer’s stage presence. The tour opened in Toronto on October 9 before continuing to Vancouver. The Toronto date was accompanied by the release of the music video for “295,” the 2021 track that charted at 154 on the Billboard Global 200, making him the first Punjabi singer to do so.

Since his death, Moose Wala’s family and team have continued to release recordings made during his lifetime, introducing previously unheard material to listeners while keeping his existing catalogue in circulation.

Bun B on Being Sampled for Drake’s Ella Langley Remake: ‘The Stars Aligned’

About a month ago, Bun B was up late with the rest of the world, watching the online premiere of Drake’s short film Fear of Missing Out. At least, he caught the beginning of the midnight livestream. “I fell asleep, and then my phone started going off,” recalls the Texas rap legend. “And it’s my nieces calling me: ‘Uncle Bun, the song is on. The song is on!’”

The song in question was Drake’s long-promised remake of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” featuring Houston’s own Don Toliver. And Bun B’s nieces were excited because that remake — which is now a Top 10 hit in its own right, titled “Solar Eclipse,” after its official release this month on a deluxe edition of the Habibti album — also features a prominent sample of their uncle’s 2005 classic “Get Throwed,” with its signature descending bass riff.

Grammy Family Feuds: Six Times Relatives Competed for the Same Award

It’s notoriously difficult to predict how the fine people at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will assess the past year when Grammy nominations are revealed on Nov. 16., considering voters’ rocky history — remember when Bonnie Raitt’s supremely under-the-radar “Just Like That” won Song of the Year in 2023 over Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” and Taylor Swift’s 10-minute “All Too Well”? But there’s a strong scenario that we’ll see something historic in the Best New Artist category this year if pop songwriter Audrey Hobert and R&B singer Malcolm Todd are both nominated.

They’re signed to different labels and have pretty different fan bases, but they are brother and sister. And if they’re nominated, it would be the first time in Grammy history that two siblings have faced off against each other in that category.

Justice Recruit Tame Impala, SZA for ‘GTA 6’ Song ‘Flower in a Hurricane’

Justice team up with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard for the Grand Theft Auto VI track “Flower in a Hurricane,” the first offering from the French duo’s score for the much-anticipated video game.

The three guests switch off vocals on the track, which sounds like a modern take on a song gamers might have heard on the soundtrack for the Eighties-based Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the setting that GTAVI revisits albeit in a present day. The song also reunites Justice with Tame Impala, who was a contributor to the duo’s album Hyperdrama.
