Kacey Musgraves will hit North American arenas this fall in support of her sixth studio album, Middle of Nowhere, out Friday (May 1). The tour opens on her birthday, Aug. 21, at the United Center in Chicago and runs through October, closing with two nights at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Opening acts include Midland, Flatland Cavalry, Carter Faith, Estevie, Charles Wesley Godwin, William Beckmann, Gabriella Rose, and the Brudi Brothers.

Middle of Nowhere, which includes guest vocals from Willie Nelson, Billy Strings, and Miranda Lambert, takes its title from a sign in the East Texas town where Musgraves grew up: “Golden, TX: Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere.” She debuted four songs from the new album during the second weekend of Coachella. The lead single, the twangy “Dry Spell,” arrived in March, followed by the equally rootsy title track in April.

Ahead of the tour, Musgraves will perform on the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards on May 17. She will also play three shows at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas, on May 3, 4, and 5, with the Mariachi Brothers as the opening act — who, with their parents, were detained by ICE in February and released several weeks later. She will also play the Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, Ky., on Sept. 25.

An American Express cardholder presale for the tour runs from May 5 at 10 a.m. local time through May 7 at 10 p.m. A general fan presale follows on May 6 and 7. Remaining tickets go on sale to the public on May 8 at kaceymusgraves.com/tour.

Taylor Swift Holds Back Tears and Thanks Family in Songwriters Hall of Fame Speech: ‘The Reason I’m Here Tonight’

Taylor Swift reflected on her career and celebrated the craft of songwriting as she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame Thursday, June 11, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Swift began her speech by sharing that when asked by the institution who she wanted to have induct her, she named Steven Spielberg. Within an hour, the legendary director and his wife, actress Kate Capshaw, were on the phone with Swift; Spielberg said he would be “thrilled to be here.” Swift, who was “blown away” by his answer, asked if it would be difficult for him to attend the ceremony as his film, Disclosure Day, was releasing at midnight on the same day. That’s when Capshaw responded with words of wisdom Swift will never forget: “Good and true things are easy.”

Lil Wayne Wins $29,225 Judgment Against Security Guard Who Claimed Rapper Struck Him

A judge has ordered a security guard and his lawyer to pay Lil Wayne $29,225, plus the Grammy-winning musician’s legal fees, after their lawsuit accusing the “Lollipop” rapper of striking the man while holding a gun was thrown out.

According to a judgment signed Wednesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, plaintiff Christian Carlos and his lawyer are jointly liable for the monetary sanctions and legal costs after the court ruled in April that they repeatedly disobeyed orders. The judge subsequently terminated the lawsuit and scrapped a trial set for August.

The Best World Cup Songs — And the Ones You May Have Forgotten

Over the years, the songs that provide a soundtrack to the World Cup have become a significant part of the tournament, almost as important as the games. Some anthems have reached far beyond the field to offer a true moment of unity (“Cup of Life,” anyone?) As the 2026 games kick off, we surveyed all of the official FIFA songs and anthems (not soundtrack singles) since 1990, and highlighted the most inescapable bops, along with some that may have gotten lost to time. Check them out below.

For the 2006 tournament, held in Germany, European classical group Il Divo and R&B icon Toni Braxton leaned into their strengths as musicians with a ballad-like entry into World Cup anthems, switching up the format of hype-up tracks. Against the swell of an orchestra, their voices unite to sing about the “glory and the pain” of making it to the big game.

Model Jennifer An, who rose to prominence as a finalist on the 2009 season of America’s Next Top Model, is speaking out against Kanye West in a new interview with the BBC. In 2024, she filed a civil suit against the rapper describing how he allegedly choked her and used his fingers to simulate oral sex on her during a shoot for La Roux’s “In for the Kill” music video in 2010. The footage was not included in the final cut. “I feel like he was like trying to touch as much as he could,” she told the news network.
