Grimes announces new album ''Psy Opera''

Grimes is teasing a new album, Psy Opera, but details around the project—including a release date—remain unclear. In a conversation with Interview MagazineInterview Magazine, she described the record as a work in progress, emerging after a period where she stepped away from music entirely. “I totally quit music,” she said. “I was like, ‘I’m just going to be a stay-at-home mom. Screw this.’”

Her return didn’t start with a formal comeback, but through writing—first poetry, then lyrics that gradually pulled her back into recording. Early material, she said, was far more abrasive, shaped by “nihilism and vengefulness,” with some of it ultimately left off the album. She doesn't go into detail on the source of those feelings, but there is no doubt that her relationship with her ex, real-life billionaire supervillain Elon Musk, has something to do with it.

One track she discussed, “The Light Ages,” reflects her ongoing fixation on technology and human fragility. She described thinking about how “human life is very frail and time is very long,” and what might endure beyond it.

Despite frequent speculation about her use of artificial intelligence, Grimes pushed back on the idea that it defines the project. “I actually don’t use it in my music,” she said, noting that any experimentation has been limited.

For now, Psy Opera remains unfinished, but should come out at some point this year.

The California Post obtained video showing heavily armed LAPD officers leading Burke away with his hands behind his back. He was still being booked when police announced his arrest on social media.

Everything to Know About the Live Nation Verdict, What It Means for Fans, and What’s Next

Big changes could be coming to the concert and live entertainment industry. On Wednesday, a jury found Live Nation and Ticketmaster liable for operating as a monopoly, marking one of the most significant antitrust decisions in recent memory.

Originally sued by the Department of Justice in 2024 (with nearly 40 states, plus Washington D.C., signing on as co-plaintiffs at the time), Live Nation was accused of exerting outsized influence over the live entertainment industry thanks to dominant positions in ticketing, promotions, and venues. For instance, the jury heard testimony that Live Nation threatened to withhold lucrative concerts from large venues that did not sign exclusive deals with Ticketmaster; and that artists who wanted to play Live Nation-owned amphitheaters also had to use the company as a promoter.

Avril Lavigne Covers Alanis Morissette’s ‘Ironic’ for Rom-Com Soundtrack

Avril Lavigne has released a cover of Alanis Morissette‘s “Ironic” as part of the soundtrack for the new rom-com Mile End Kicks.

Lavigne mirrors Morissette’s original version, showcasing her grungy vocals — but this isn’t her first time performing the song. Back in 2005, on the heels of her second record Under My Skin, Lavigne got invited to duet the track with Morissette at a concert at Los Angeles’ House of Blues. That same night, the duo also sang Lavigne’s “Losing Grip ” from her album Let Go.
