Simone Biles made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics as she secured the Gold Medal in the women’s gymnastics individual all-around final. She also led Team USA to Gold two days prior. The 27-year-old gymnast is the first American to win the all-around gold twice — she previously won it 2016 Rio Olympics.

While Biles has dominated women’s gymnastics for years, the Paris Olympics have marked a comeback moment. in 2021, Biles  pulled out of several individual and team competitions in the Tokyo Olympics after suffering from the “twisties.”

Gloria Steinem, pioneering feminist, founder of Ms. Magazine, and the unflagging force behind the Equal Rights Amendment, has died at the age of 92.

Steinem’s death was announced Thursday on social media. “Yesterday, Gloria Steinem passed away peacefully at her home in New York City, surrounded by some of the many who loved her. Gloria’s near-century on earth were years well-lived, and she continued working for equality until the very end,” her representatives wrote.

Biden, who is in recovery, was coming on my podcast, Dopey: On the Dark Comedy of Drug Addiction. He is exactly the kind of person I like to have on the show. When I started it in 2016 with my friend Chris O’Connor, our plan was to create a podcast all around the worst things we had ever done in active addiction. Chris wound up relapsing and tragically dying from a fentanyl overdose in 2018. I kept the show going, still focused on the insanity of addiction and ways that we can overcome it.

Campus security is on to us. For the past 30 minutes, I’ve been doing laps around a satellite campus of a small Virginia university in the back of a conspicuously rigged-out Toyota Tacoma, a fat disc-shaped antenna magnet-clamped onto its roof and connected to a thick tube of cables that run into a black box by my side. In return, they agree to take me hunting for the cybersecurity world’s greatest enemy: the AI-powered mass-surveillance cameras that have popped up all over America.
