A brief skirmish broke out on the pitch of the FIFA World Cup final shortly after the final whistle blew and signaled Spain’s 1-0 extra time victory over Argentina on Sunday.

Argentinian midfielder Leandro Paredes was seen shoving and grabbing Spanish player Eric García by the throat, before launching an attack on Spain captain Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, aka Rodri. A second Argentinian player, Nahuel Molina, also jumped into the scrap, seen throwing jabs at members of the Spanish squad.

BBC soccer analyst Alan Shearer claimed that Paredes instigated the fight, saying he “went for them” and threw “two or three haymakers into someone’s face.”

Amid the physical confrontation, Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni tried to intervene and separate his players before the fight escalated even further.

Paredes was given a red card, which triggers an automatic suspension for the next match he’s scheduled to play in. However, further disciplinary action may be taken due to public calls for Paredes to face a longer suspension.

Nolan Wells’ Parents Announce Public Funeral Arrangements: ‘We Want to Celebrate’ Him

Details about the funeral arrangements for Nolan Wells, the teen who was found dead on July 6 after visiting Horn Island, Mississippi, have been released. On Wednesday, following a meeting with Jackson County District Attorney Angel Myers Mcllrath, Nolan Wells’ parents and their attorney Ben Crump announced that the funeral will be open to family, friends, and the media.

Reverend Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy at Wells’ funeral on July 20 at Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., with the funeral service starting immediately afterward. For the repass, Wells’ family plans to have a party at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

Who was Nolan Wells, and what was he doing on Horn Island?

On July 4, Wells, a football player at Southwest Mississippi Community College, and several friends traveled to Horn Island, a remote strip of land which is only accessible by private boat. Later that day, the friends came back on another boat. Wells, apparently, had decided to stay on the island. He was last seen around 3 p.m. wearing blue swim trunks and sunglasses. According to a post from Josh Gill, the commander of the United Cajun Navy, a volunteer organization that helped with the search, Wells wanted to stay on the island to talk with a girl.
