Britney Spears called out her family in a post on Instagram on Wednesday night, saying she is “incredibly lucky to even be alive” after their mistreatment.

“As people, all we really want is to feel connected to each other and never feel alone … for those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out … they were wrong,” she wrote alongside a photograph of a child holding a parent’s hand. “We can forgive as people but u don’t ever forget. Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!!”

She added, “I’m incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I’m scared of them.”

The singer reflected on how her family hasn’t owned up to their part in her conservatorship. “It’s weird how God works in mysterious ways,” she wrote. “My friends, what do you think he is saying today ??? Because to be totally honest with you, no matter what he says, they will never take responsibility for what they did.”

This isn’t the first time Spears has posted about her family in recent months. In December, she shared an image of a Christmas tree with a sarcastic comment: “Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma, the kind you can’t fix.”

In November, Spears temporarily deactivated her Instagram account after she posted a series of responses to her ex-husband Kevin Federline‘s recent memoir, You Thought You Knew. The tell-all book, released in October, recounts the couple’s tumultuous relationship, including their marriage in 2004 and their divorce in 2007. Along with an alarming claim that Spears would watch their children sleep with a knife in her hand , Federline wrote: “Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change.” He also claimed she drank while pregnant and did cocaine while breastfeeding.

Spears discussed her family drama in her own memoir, The Woman in Me, which was released in 2024. The best-selling book contained several bombshell revelations, many of which were related to Spears’ controversial conservatorship, which finally ended in 2021. In the book, she said the court-ordered arrangement turned her into “a sort of child-robot,” adding, “I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself.”

The singer also wrote about agreeing to the conservatorship so she’d be able to be with her kids (whom she’d lost custody of after her divorce with Kevin Federline); feeling betrayed by her sister Jamie Lynn, who told Spears to “stop fighting” the conservatorship; and learning about the #FreeBritney movement while she was “locked up against my will” in a rehab facility.

Cardi B Shuts Down Lawsuit Claiming ‘Enough (Miami)’ Used Beats From ‘Reservation Dogs’ Song

Cardi B scored another court victory Monday when a federal judge in Texas dismissed the copyright infringement lawsuit claiming her hit song “Enough (Miami)” stole beats from the 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” from the acclaimed FX series Reservation Dogs.

Plaintiffs Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, known professionally as the production duo Kemika1956, sued the Grammy-winning rapper nearly two years ago, claiming she violated the copyright for “Greasy Frybread” by “reproducing, distributing, and publicly performing the infringing work” without permission. They later amended their complaint to add more claims, including defamation.

U.S. Attack Helicopters Flew to Kid Rock’s House. The Army Is Investigating

The U.S. Army raised its maximum age for enlistment to 42, which means Kid Rock, 55, still can’t join up. But that didn’t stop the MAGA mouthpiece from playing military man this past weekend in Nashville when he posted a video of himself saluting a pair of U.S. Army attack helicopters that, for reasons unknown, were hovering over his home in Whites Creek, Tennessee, a rural area about 11 miles outside of downtown.

In a video shared to Rock’s Instagram, the singer can be seen clapping for the two Apache helicopters from the pool deck of his home — a replica of the White House that he’s dubbed “The Southern White House.” A miniature State of Liberty watches over the pool. (Note: the real White House does not have a Statue of Liberty replica, yet.) “This is a level of respect that shit for brains Governor of California will never know,” Rock captioned the video, a dig at Gavin Newsom. “God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

Céline Dion is making her official comeback. On Monday, the singer announced a series of shows in Paris this fall, marking her first headlining concerts since 2020.

The news arrives days after posters began popping up in Paris, igniting rumors of her return. She made the announcement in a video on Monday, her 58th birthday. “In my career, I’ve recorded a lot of birthday messages,” she said. “But this is the first time I’ve ever recorded one for my own birthday. And wow, it’s been hard keeping it a secret from myself! But I want to let you know that I’m doing great. Drake Can’t Help But Air Decade-Old Awards Show Grievance While Honoring Nelly Furtado

Drake inducted his “dear friend” Nelly Furtado into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at last night’s Juno Awards (March 29), delivering a kind, thoughtful, and poignant tribute that, nevertheless, in classic Drake fashion, still contained a few of the rapper’s own age-old grievances (and a plug for his next album).

In a video message, Drake spoke sincerely about how much Furtado had inspired him. At one point, he said to the singer-songwriter: “You were our North Star. The proof that it was possible. The Portuguese princess who could go from spitting 16s with Swollen Members to dropping ‘Maneater’ and ‘Promiscuous’ with Timbaland. There were no ceilings, there were no walls, there were no boundaries.”
