The rights to Tina Turner‘s name, image, and likeness now belong to Pophouse Entertainment, according to The Associated Press. The company, which ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus co-founded, also acquired a majority stake in the rights to Turner’s music catalog from BMG. Terms of the acquisition have not been revealed.

Jessica Koravos, Pophouse’s CEO, told the AP that it was interested in Turner, who died in 2023, “because she has such an incredible visual presence and such an incredible stage energy.” The company, known for digital avatars and immersive experiences, is exploring “projects that can portray that and try to recreate that to some degree,” Koravos said.

Ultimately, Koravos said Pophouse wants to “consolidate [Turner’s] legacy.” She did not say whether or not the company was making a Turner avatar but did tease an announcement of its plans to arrive sometime in the next six months.

Turner’s estate was “informed and participating in the conversations,” the executive said, but not considered a “counterparty” in the transaction.

“[BMG’s] responsibility, alongside Pophouse and the Estate, is to ensure her work continues to resonate with audiences around the world, while remaining true to the strength, independence and originality that defined her career,” Alistair Norbury, president of BMG U.K., Continental Europe and APAC, said in a statement. The company has retained an undisclosed percentage of Turner’s catalog.

Pophouse, which helped create the ABBA Voyage show in 2021, acquired Kiss’ catalog, brand name, and I.P. for a deal worth more than $300 million in 2024. The band had previously debuted the company’s digital avatars for the band at the final night of its 2023 farewell tour; those avatars are expected to get their own show in 2027. Cyndi Lauper also aligned with the company, which acquired a majority share of her music rights, in 2024. The company also owns the majority rights to Avicii’s music.

Kanye West’s Unlikely New Concert Partner: Live Nation Israel

Nothing could illustrate the absurdity of 2026 quite like an upcoming concert by Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, in a former Soviet republic being produced by Live Nation Israel.

On June 12, the rapper will perform at Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi, Georgia, billed as the latest A-list booking by Starring Georgia, an initiative partially funded by the Georgian government, whose stated goal is “to bring to Georgia the most in-demand contemporary artists … who have never performed in our country before.” The effort appears to be working, as the 70,000 tickets put up for Ye’s headlining date sold out within a day.

Britney Spears’ Rep Denies Singer Was Walking Around Restaurant With a Knife: ‘This Is Ridiculous’

Britney Spears‘ rep has addressed reports that the singer was “erratic” and walking around with a knife during a night out at dinner recently, claiming the purported events were being “completely blown out of proportion.”

“Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard,” the spokesperson said in a statement provided to Rolling Stone on Thursday. ”She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half.”

Everything We Know About Drake's 'Iceman' So Far

For the first time in years, a new Drake album arrives carrying genuine uncertainty.

Iceman, the Toronto rapper’s ninth solo studio album, is set to release tomorrow, May 15, after months of cryptic teasers, livestreams, public stunts and relentless speculation. Under normal circumstances, a Drake release would already dominate the conversation by sheer scale alone.

This time, though, the album also arrives in the shadow of his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar, which reshaped the public perception around one of rap’s biggest stars.
