The pop star will perform with the whole Muppets gang when the musical special premieres on Disney+ and ABC on Feb. 4

Sabrina Carpenter Is Twinning With Miss Piggy in ‘The Muppet Show’ Teaser

Miss Piggy isn’t the type to get stage fright, but she’d also never turn down a shower of compliments. In the teaser trailer for The Muppet Show, the iconic character gets a pep talk from Sabrina Carpenter, the special guest starring alongside the Muppets in the musical event premiering Feb. 4 on Disney+ and ABC.

“You are an icon,” Carpenter tells Miss Piggy, who feigns humility in her response, “You’re too sweet — go on.” Moments later, they’re donning matching outfits. The pop star joins the Muppets as they return to the original Muppet Theatre with new music and more behind-the-scenes shenanigans.

The Muppet Show executive producer Seth Rogen makes an appearance in the brief teaser, too. “It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” he tells Fozzie Bear, who thinks he should find some higher aspirations in life. “Got any other dreams?” the OG muppet asks.

The stakes are high for the production team putting on the special. “It’s the return of the Muppet show,” Kermit, voiced by Matt Vogel, announces in the teaser. “Back on the very stage where it all started, and then ended, and is maybe starting again depending on how tonight goes.

Disney first announced plans for The Muppet Show in September 2025. The scheduled Feb. 4 premiere coincides with the 50th anniversary of the show, which premiered as a variety series in 1976. Dave Goelz, who voices Gonzo the Great among other characters, returns alongside Bill Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, and David Rudman.

The Muppet Show special follows the 2023 series The Muppets Mayhem, which featured cameos from Lil Nas X and Kesha, and 2020’s Muppets Now, which guest-starred RuPaul, Aubrey Plaza, Danny Trejo, and more. The last proper one-off special from the Muppets came in 2021 with the release of Muppets Haunted Mansion.

Drake, Adin Ross Used Online Casino Money for Artificial Streams, Lawsuit Claims

A new class-action lawsuit filed by two consumers in Virginia accuses music superstar Drake, streamer Adin Ross, and a third man based in Australia of luring users into real-money gambling on the casino platform Stake.us as part of a racketeering conspiracy that allegedly used proceeds to “artificially inflate streaming counts for Drake’s catalog.”

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Virginia, claims the three men worked with Stake to “prey upon consumers,” unlawfully expose them to the “substantial risks of gambling addiction,” and jeopardize their financial well-being. The plaintiffs say they were “influenced to participate” in Stake’s “predatorial gambling environment” after viewing Drake’s paid promotion of the site, including live-streamed gambling sessions and giveaways.

NewJeans’ Label Sues Ousted Member Danielle, ex-CEO for $30 Million

The K-pop label Ador has filed a lawsuit against ousted NewJeans member Danielle, seeking approximately $30 million (43.1 billion Korean won) in damages. The lawsuit also lists a member of Danielle’s family and Ador’s former CEO Min Hee-jin as defendants, the BBC reports.

The new suit comes days after Ador and its parent company, HYBE, revealed that they had ended their contract with Danielle amid wider talks with NewJeans members to return and end a protracted dispute. In that statement, Ador signaled their intention to take legal action, saying they believed Danielle’s family member and Min Hee-jin “bear significant responsibility for causing this dispute and for the delays in NewJeans’ departure and return.”

D4vd could face criminal charges

American singer D4vd could soon face criminal charges in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas, as a grand jury empowered to rule on indictments is currently continuing its review of the case. According to several sources cited by TMZ, authorities believe they have sufficient elements to consider a formal indictment.

Contrary to some information that circulated earlier, the grand jury at work would not be purely investigative in nature. Rather, it is said to be a grand jury with the authority to vote on indictments, a key step in the American judicial system. The case is reportedly being closely followed by prosecutor Beth Silverman, who considers D4vd to be involved in the circumstances that led to Rivas’ death.
