‘SNL’: Watch Dua Lipa Perform ‘Illusion,’ ‘Happy For You’

Saturday Night Live host and musical guest Dua Lipa performed two entries from her third studio album, Radical Optimism, which came out Friday.

After leading off with the dance track “Illusion,” the British pop star returned with “Happy For You,” the album’s closing single.

Lipa, Rolling Stone‘s cover artist back in January, told us then of her latest album: “I want to capture the essence of youth and freedom and having fun and just letting things happen, whether it’s good or bad. You can’t change it.”

Later in the show, Lipa featured in a music-themed sketch alongside Ego Nwodim where a hip-hop producer (Devon Walker) wants a new tag in the beginning of their song. During their recording session, however, the two singers come up with basically every option other than cool.

Lipa, whose European concert tour for Radical Optimism begins in Germany next month, was previously SNL‘s musical guest in December 2020, when she played two tracks from that year’s Future Nostalgia. Lipa debuted on the late night show in early 2018.

There’s little that Morgan Freeman hasn’t done throughout his seven decades in show business. He’s won Oscars and Golden Globe Awards, starred in countless movies and Broadway plays, narrated documentaries, championed environmental causes, and lended his star power to political campaigns. And now just one year short of his 90th birthday, he’s broadening out into music with the release of his upcoming album, Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience.

The 12-song LP is a journey through 100 years of blues music, and features guest appearances by Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, Shemekia Copeland, Anthony Big A Sherrod, Lady Adrena, and many others. It comes out Aug. 7, but right now you can hear Freeman and Taj Mahal team up for the Son House classic “Death Letter Blues.”

Sabrina Carpenter Granted 5-Year Restraining Order After Alleged Stalker Gives Chilling Testimony

A Los Angeles judge granted pop star Sabrina Carpenter a five-year restraining order against a man who, testifying in court on Wednesday, claimed he is part of a “classified military government program” along with the singer.

Speaking in a deep, monotone voice, William Applegate said he had been recruited to the program at a local Los Angeles hotel, that his mission involved “the second coming of Christ,” and that he had to contact Carpenter to save the world.
