Charlotte Cardin Announces Third Album 'Midnight, Mon Amour'

The Montréal singer's new third studio album explores vulnerability, private desires and inner contradictions, building on her recent singles “Memories,” “The Way We Touch” and “Take Me Back.”

Charlotte Cardin Announces Third Album 'Midnight, Mon Amour'

Charlotte Cardin will release her third studio album, Midnight, Mon Amour, on January 29, 2027. The Montréal-born, Paris-based singer announced the 17-track record on Tuesday, October 13, alongside a new music video for her latest single, “Memories.”

The album follows Phoenix (2021) and 99 Nights (2023). Cardin has described the upcoming project as a “shadow album,” exploring private desires, vulnerability, shame and the contradictions people keep hidden.

The announcement comes days after Cardin released “Memories” in two versions: an English-language recording and a bilingual version titled “Memories (Souvenirs).” Both songs received their own music videos.

The new album continues a run of singles that began with “Tant pis pour elle” in 2025, followed by “The Way We Touch” in March 2026 and “Take Me Back” in June. All three tracks are expected to appear on Midnight, Mon Amour.

“I really wanted to explore all of the inner duality that I’ve been feeling as a woman in the last few years and I wanted to use those oppositions and those contradictory feelings as something that’s empowering and liberating,” Cardin says of the album.

Cardin's latest release follows a busy year for the singer, who won Female Artist of the Year at France's 2026 Victoires de la Musique awards. The honour made her the first Québécoise to win the category since 2003.

The album, like its title, will be bilingual, something she shared was important to her.

Midnight, Mon Amour arrives January 29, 2027.

Angine de Poitrine’s Breakout Year Now Includes Halloween Costumes

Over the weekend, many Canadians looking for Halloween costumes were surprised to find they could buy a replica of Québec microtonal math-rock duo Angine de Poitrine's costumes, at Québec-based specialty retailer Party Expert.

Advertised as a couples costume, the dress and mask for Khn and Klek are sold separately, with the dress and glove kit being sold $59.99, while the mask will set you back $44.99. They are currently sold out online, although some Klek masks are weirdly still available.

The description for the ''Polka Dot Attack'' costume does mention Angine de Poitrine directly, though nothing indicates that the famously reserved band gave their authorization. The retailer's website says the costume ''guarantees a memorable entrance at the office party or the costume contest, easy to spot among the witches, vampires and zombies.''

DistroKid Removed Songs From Streaming Platforms in Response to UMG Copyright Suit

Last week, Josh Sahunta, a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, received a strange text from a friend and collaborator: Why had he removed his album Mellowdrama from Spotify? The 2022 LP was one of Sahunta’s most-streamed projects and contributed significantly to his streaming royalty income. He had no reason to take the album down himself, and no idea what his friend was talking about.

Searching for answers, Sahunta saw that much of the album was not only grayed out on Spotify, but also his account with DistroKid, the largest music distribution platform by volume. Soon, Mellowdrama would disappear from Apple Music, YouTube, and other streaming platforms, too. But Sahunta couldn’t find any reason for the takedowns until he contacted DistroKid customer support directly.
