A$AP Rocky is not backing away from his long-running tension with Drake. In an upcoming episode of The Jason Lee Show on BET, the New York rapper was asked whether he would step into the ring for a celebrity boxing match against his longtime rival.

His answer was brief and direct: “bare knuckles like the Irish,” Rocky quipped.

The comment appeared in a teaser for his upcoming interview with Jason Lee, where the two discussed a range of topics, including Rocky’s relationship with Rihanna and his complicated history with former A$AP Mob collaborator A$AP Ferg. While the fight scenario was hypothetical, the response highlighted just how much attention continues to surround Rocky and Drake’s fractured relationship.

The two former friends were once close, notably collaborating alongside 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar on the 2012 hit “Fuckin’ Problems.” Their relationship reportedly changed after Rocky and Rihanna began dating in 2020.

In a previous interview with DJ Akademiks, Rocky suggested that the tension began after his relationship with Rihanna became public, saying that was when he started noticing a change in Drake’s behaviour. Drake appeared to address Rocky on tracks including “Fear of Heights” from his 2023 album For All the Dogs. Rocky later responded with a verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Show of Hands” in 2024, rapping about rivals being “in their feelings over women” and referencing his history with Rihanna.

The back-and-forth continued with Drake’s recent album Iceman, where listeners interpreted several lyrics on “Burning Bridges” as shots aimed at Rocky and Rihanna.

Will the two rappers actually get in the ring together? It's unlikely, but it would certainly be one of the highest-grossing pay-per-view fights of all time.

Evenko Changes Course on Festival Bag Restrictions

Major promoter Evenko has softened its bag policy for upcoming events at Montréal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau, just days after introducing a much stricter rule for ÎleSoniq and facing backlash from festivalgoers.

The changes are part of a confusing series of adjustments that began before ÎleSoniq. In July, Osheaga introduced new bag restrictions designed to speed up entry. Under that policy, transparent bags could measure up to 30 by 30 by 23 centimetres, while smaller non-transparent bags, including handbags, waist bags and fanny packs, were allowed up to 23 by 15 by 10 centimetres.

Marilyn Manson’s Ex-Assistant Gets Trial Date for Sexual Assault And Battery Claims

A Los Angeles County judge granted a trial date Wednesday to the woman who claims Marilyn Manson sexually assaulted her at his West Hollywood home studio in 2010 and later subjected her to physical and emotional abuse when she worked as his assistant.

At a court hearing, Judge Steve Cochran noted the case had “traveled a windy road” after it was first filed in 2021 and then dismissed and revived twice. He said he was willing to grant an expedited date if plaintiff Ashley Walters wanted one. When Walters’ lawyer requested a date in November of next year, he quickly set the case for a jury trial on Nov. 15, 2027. While that date might not sound expedited, it’s relatively fast for the county, where new trials are routinely being set for mid-2028.

Forget AI: Rap’s Biggest Trend This Summer Is the Eighties

When Fenix Flexin and Tyga worked together in a studio this summer, Tyga realized they had independently landed on a similar Eighties sound. By then, Fenix, the Los Angeles rapper and Shoreline Mafia member, had released a song called “Rubberz” with producer Purps on the Beat. It sounded like a record transmitted straight from a time machine, with Fenix singing in a fake British accent over New Wave synths. As you probably know by now, it became a hit: “Rubberz” peaked at Number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Tyga, meanwhile, was deep into $TARFACE, a 10-song album of glossy Eighties pop credited to Tyga and his new alter ego, also named $TARFACE. He and Fenix recorded “Lavish,” an unreleased collaboration that found them playing with the same bright keyboards and processed vocals. Tyga says they arrived at the sound separately.
