This week, rumors of the death of Michael J. Fox (who is alive) have been so greatly exaggerated that the actor (still alive) had to post on social media Wednesday night that he is, in fact, alive. The actor is 64 and will remain so for the next two months, at which point in time he’ll turn 65.

Those rumors began when CNN distributed a video titled “Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox,” according to Entertainment Weekly. Well, Fox certainly remembers his life because he’s still living it.

“How do you react when you turn on the TV and CNN is reporting your death?” Fox wrote in a Threads post. “Do you…A) switch to MNSBC, or whatever they are calling themselves these days, (B) Pour scolding [sic] hot water on your lap, if it hurts your fine, (C) Call your wife, hopefully she’s concerned but reassuring, (D) Relax, they do this once every year, (E) Ask yourself wtf ? I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me and I’m ok. Love, Mike.”

The clip, which has since been removed, reportedly showed clips from throughout Fox’s career, which has included the hit TV series Family Ties and Spin City, the Back to the Future movies, Teen Wolf, Greedy, Mars Attacks, and a middling adaptation of Bright Lights, Big City, among other films. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, revealing it to the public in 1998, as seen in the Emmy-winning 2023 documentary Still, which elegantly showed just how much Fox enjoys living. Moreover, he continues to act, having recently appeared on the show Shrinking.

“He came into our living rooms on the small screen each week as [Family Ties’] Alex P. Keaton and eventually onto the big screen as [Back to the Future’s] Marty McFly,” the tribute clip’s narrator said, according to EW. “But Michael J. Fox had a compelling third act as Parkinson’s sufferer and stem cell research advocate.”

CNN apologized for the gaffe in a statement. “The package was published in error; we have removed it from our platforms and send our apologies to Michael J. Fox and his family,” a CNN spokesperson told EW.

Fox most recently proved his livingness on Tuesday when he made an appearance at PaleyFest in Los Angeles, according to People.

Go up the stairs, and turn the corner. You’re at one end of a long subway corridor — the kind of bland, generic space citydwellers tread through day in and day out. The walls and floors are colored in the overlit, antiseptic white associated with Kubrick films and Apple stores. A man with a briefcase strolls toward you and passes you on your right. A sign hanging from the ceiling points toward an exit. Posters for dentist offices and museum exhibits line one side; three metal doors on the other. Walk to the far end. Turn left. Make a right. Follow the arrows. A yellow sign informs you are on Level 1.

Turn the corner again, and… you’re in the same corridor as before. Same man with the briefcase. Same sign. Same posters. Same doors. Make the same left, then the same right. If you’re lucky, the yellow sign says you’re now on Level 1. If you’re unlucky, it still says Level 0. But now, there are also a set of “rules” next to it. You’ll once again find yourself in the same corridor. Pay close attention to your seemingly nondescript surroundings. If things appear “normal,” proceed forward. Should you see an anomaly — anything that seems different or off from that initial Point-A-to-Point-B trek — turn around immediately. Despite reversing course, you’ll end up in the same place. Round and round you’ll go. Do this successfully enough times, and you’ll eventually make it to Level 8, where the outside world awaits. Fail to heed the instructions, and you’ll be trapped in this urban purgatory with no way out.

Harrison Ford is opening up about his past struggles with clinical depression. In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, the esteemed actor was candid about the mental health struggles he faced while attending Ripon College in Wisconsin in the early 1960s. At the time, Ford said his social isolation led him to exhibit symptoms of depression.

“I had a single room, and I had classes to go to, but I rarely ventured out. I would get up out of my single bed, go to a phone, order a pizza, go back and lie down in bed until the pizza came. I would eat the pizza, throw the wrappers in the corner, go back to sleep,” Ford said. “On the rare occasion I did go to the classroom, I would often touch the door on the outside of the building, and turn around and walk back,” he continued. “I was more than depressed. I think I was ill. I was socially ill, psychologically not well,” the actor added.

A new documentary series chronicling the life and career of 50 Cent is headed to Hulu, marking a notable collaboration between the rapper-turned-producer and the streaming giant.

The untitled, three-part series will be directed by Mandon Lovett and produced by The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) — known for projects like Rap Caviar Presents —alongside Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television banner, Deadline announced Tuesday. Patrick Altema is set to serve as showrunner, where he’s also an executive producer alongside Jackson, Lovett, and IPC’s Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman.

The partnership underscores Hulu’s continued investment in music-driven storytelling and Jackson’s expanding presence in premium television.

Fif first teased the announcement on April 1, sharing a social media post claiming that the deal with the streaming platform is worth $75 million. “HULU wins in a bidding war against STARZ, NETFLIX, and APPLE for my new doc,” the rapper wrote in a post on X, along with a supposed TMZ graphic deeming the partnership as “the biggest doc deal in years.”

However, no such story was reported by TMZ or any other outlet at the time, leading many to believe the post was an April Fools joke, given the timing of the announcement. Hulu did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the financial details of the agreement.

The forthcoming series adds to Jackson’s growing résumé in Hollywood, where he has successfully transitioned from music into film and television.
