Ali G “iz” back. Over the weekend, Sacha Baron Cohen popped up at the Wimbledon finals dressed as his iconic doofus, poser character, following reports that he’d just wrapped filming a new Ali G movie.

Cohen confirmed his return on a new official Ali G Instagram account, sharing a video of himself in the grandstands during the men’s singles final at Wimbledon. In the clip, Ali describes tennis — which he’s apparently just learned about — as “the crap version of ping pong” and states his intention to sell as much weed as possible during the match.

“And if u iz at dis borin wimbledore final lookin 2 get grand slammed, I iz here wif de hookup,” the post’s caption added.

Just days before Ali G appeared at Wimbledon with some dime bags and pre-rolls, reports emerged that Baron Cohen had finished filming a new movie as the character. The film’s existence was confirmed by the Hollywood trades, but details were of course scarce as Baron Cohen made the project in characteristic secrecy. No release date has been announced. It’s been several years since Baron Cohen last appeared in public as Ali G, one of his most famous characters (alongside Borat). He did a short bit as Ali G on The Tonight Show in 2024, when he pretended to moderate a debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump; and in 2016, he surprised producers of the Academy Awards when he made an unplanned appearance in character.

Baron Cohen debuted Ali G in the late Nineties, then broke through a few years later with his hit series, Da Ali G Show, in which he conducted deranged interviews with unsuspecting subjects. One movie, Ali G Indahouse, was released in 2002, and it’s notably the only Baron Cohen character film not done in mockumentary style.

Simmons appeared on podcast Happy Sad Confused this week to discuss his career and admitted that he has still yet to encounter his co-star. “I have not met Tom Holland,” Simmons acknowledged. “Delightful guy, I’m told.”

Bad Bunny stays winning. The Puerto Rican superstar just earned his first Emmy nomination for his historic 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance, specifically in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category.

Interestingly enough, the musician is credited twice under the official nomination, once with his birth name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio for his role as a supervising producer of the performance, and as a performer. The performance itself earned nine nominations, including Outstanding Choreography For Variety Or Reality Programming, Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special, Outstanding Hairstyling For A Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Program, Outstanding Production Design For A Variety Special, Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction For A Special, Outstanding Music Direction, and the aforementioned Outstanding Variety Special (Live), though Bad Bunny is only listed under Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
