In the lead-up to the announcement of his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, Harry Styles left cryptic messages scattered across the world. One in particular read, “Let the light in.” As it turns out, the note was a nod to the first single from the album, “Aperture.” The song will be released worldwide at 7 p.m. EST on Jan. 22 ahead of the album’s March 6 arrival.

Aperture, of course, controls how much light passes through a camera. Last week’s album announcement arrived with a new slate of merch, including a limited-edition box set containing a reloadable 35mm film camera. Styles also shared an Instagram Story post featuring an animation of the single title opening and closing, letting light in and shutting it out. The accompanying grid post captures Styles grinning in the studio.

Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally marks the first LP release from Styles since Harry’s House arrived in 2022. The 12-track album reunites the musician with his long-time collaborator, Kid Harpoon. In 2022, Harpoon told Rolling Stone he was looking forward to following up the Grammy Award-winning record, which took home Album of the Year in 2023.

“What I hope for going forward with Harry is that whatever it is next, let’s not try and second-guess it, or do anything based on what we’ve done before,” he said. “Let’s just try and do something new and land somewhere exciting. And hopefully everyone’s as excited to hear it as we are to kind of hear it as well. You know, I feel like we don’t know what it is yet. That could be anything, which is the most exciting thing about it.”

With more than 1,300 days having passed since he last released new music, Styles is ready to step into the light once again.

Avicii’s Former Manager’s Defamation Lawsuit Against DJ’s Estate Dismissed

The District Court in Sweden ruled to dismiss a lawsuit Avicii‘s former manager, Arash “Ash” Pournouri, filed against the late DJ’s estate and surviving family members on March 4.

Pournouri had alleged that a Netflix documentary two years before the 2018 death of the DJ, whose real name is Tim Bergling, and two posthumously released books defamed him, violating a 2016 agreement that supposedly prevented Bergling from speaking about their partnership. Thomas Olsson, the attorney representing Bergling’s estate, family, and holdings, told the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, according to Sweden Herald, that the court came to its decision because Pournouri’s filing did not meet the requirements for such a lawsuit.

Live Nation and DOJ reach settlement in antitrust trial

Live Nation has reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice that could significantly reshape the live music business, ending a closely watched antitrust trial less than a week after it began. According to Politico, the agreement is expected to be announced Monday and includes both financial penalties and structural changes to the company’s ticketing and venue operations.

The company will pay roughly $200 million in damages to the states that joined the lawsuit. More consequential for the industry, however, are the changes aimed at loosening Ticketmaster’s grip on the ticketing ecosystem.
