It’s been 10 years since Bruno Mars‘ seminal record, 24K Magic — and now, his highly anticipated fourth solo album is finally ready. On Monday, the pop king confirmed that he had completed his upcoming record, though he revealed little details about the LP to come.

Mars wrote simply on X: “My album is done.”

While this will be his first solo album since the 2016 classic that featured hits like “That’s What I Like,” “Versace on the Floor,” and Finesse,” he also linked up with Anderson .Paak to form Silk Sonic and dropped the 2021 duo LP, An Evening With Silk Sonic.

24K Magic was inequivocally one of the most successful modern albums, winning the star seven Grammys, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year for the title track, and Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like.” The Silk Sonic record also received acclaim, especially with lead single “Leave the Door Open,” which won both Record and Song of the Year at the 2022 Grammys, along with two other trophies. (The duo decided not to submit the album itself for consideration, despite being a top contender. “We thank the Grammys for allowing us to perform on their platform — not once but twice — and awarding us at last year’s ceremony,” Mars told Rolling Stone at the time. “We’d be crazy to ask for anything more.”)

After the Silk Sonic era, Mars returned with several massive duets including “Fat, Juicy & Wet” with Sexyy Redd and “Die With a Smile,” the smash hit with Lady Gaga, which won a Grammy at the 2025 awards show. He also linked up with Rosé for “APT” at the end of 2024 and the collab gained three Grammy nominations at next month’s awards show, including Record and Song of the Year.

Brigitte Bardot underwent surgery for cancer prior to death

In the final months of Brigitte Bardot‘s life, the actress underwent multiple surgeries to treat cancer, her husband Bernard d’Ormale told Paris Match. The two procedures, paired with her history of severe back pain, further weakened her health prior to her death on Dec. 28 at the age of 91.

“It slipped out two or three times in recent months, during moments of physical suffering, she would say: ‘I’m fed up, I want to leave…'” d’Ormale said. He noted that Bardot received assistance from nurses who “discreetly” visited their residence in Saint-Tropez on a daily basis. He also provided aid.

Mary J. Blige has won dismissal of the lawsuit filed against her by former friend and stylist Misa Hylton.

In a ruling entered Tuesday, a New York judge spiked the case and issued a stern warning after Hylton ghosted a deadline to defend her serious allegations that Blige had attempted to poach a musician from her management roster.

Neil Young Shares First-Ever Recorded Concert With Crazy Horse

In the final days of 2025, the Neil Young Archives team quietly dropped a recording of Neil Young and Crazy Horse‘s Feb. 25, 1970, show at Music Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a “Winter Solstice” gift to the fan community. The tape has circulated for years as a cherished bootleg sourced from the soundboard, but it’s never sounded quite this pristine.

It’s a remarkable 16-song set that includes the debut of “Don’t Let It Bring You Down,” which was paired into a medley with “The Old Laughing Lady,” the first performance of “Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown,” and Young’s first known live rendition of Joe London’s “It Might Have Been,” which he eventually recorded for Oceanside/Countryside.

Björk calls for Greenland independance as Trump revives takeover threats

Björk shared a note of solidarity with the people of Greenland after Donald Trump and his admin revived threats of taking over the country following the capture of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.

“I wish all Greenlanders blessing in their fight for independence,” Björk wrote on Instagram Monday (Jan. 5), adding: “Colonialism has repeatedly given me horror chills up my back, and the chance that my fellow Greenlanders might go from one cruel colonizer to another is too brutal to even imagine. ‘Úr öskunni í eldinn,’ like we say in Icelandic.” (That phrase translates to “From the ashes into the fire.”)

Petitions to deport Nicki Minaj gain over 120,000 signatures and counting

Several Change.org petitions to deport Nicki Minaj to her native Trinidad and Tobago have amassed more than 120,000 signatures combined. The most popular petition — garnering over 83,000 signatures — started on July 9, 2025, and lists Minaj’s “harrass[ment]” of “the Carters” as one of the inciting issues (Minaj had been incessantly lambasting Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter on X at the time). There are also at least three other petitions created between Dec. 21 and 28, 2025, that coincide with Minaj’s controversial Dec. 21 appearance alongside conservative activist Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where the rapper praised President Donald Trump’s administration.

One of the recent petitions began on Dec. 27 by a 16 year-old in Chicago named Tristan Hamilton, per the website, and has gained the most ground, with over 41,000 signatures at the time of writing. Using a photo of Minaj high-fiving Kirk as the petition’s lead image, Hamilton wrote that Minaj has left her LGBTQ fans “feeling deeply betrayed,” pointing to Minaj’s AmericaFest comments, “Boys, be boys…There’s nothing wrong with being a boy.” Some have seen Minaj’s appearance at the event as the rapper aligning with Turning Point’s historically anti-trans and queerphobic leadership. “Deporting Nicki Minaj back to Trinidad would serve as a reminder that public figures need to be accountable for their words and the broader impact they have on diverse communities,” wrote Hamilton. “It’s not just about one person’s fall from grace; it’s about holding everyone to a standard of compassion and consistency, especially when they possess significant influence.” Representatives for Hamilton and Nicki Minaj did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s requests for comment.
