The CFL is turning the 2026 Grey Cup into a major Canadian music showcase, with Sarah McLachlan, Blue Rodeo and James Barker Band joining country star Riley Green on the entertainment lineup.

The 113th Grey Cup takes place November 15 at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium, where Green will headline the Grey Cup Halftime Show. The Alabama-born country singer, who has scored six No. 1 hits on Canadian country radio, including “There Was This Girl” and “Worst Way,” will bring his Southern country sound to Alberta.

Before the game, Canadian music icon Sarah McLachlan will perform “O Canada,” while Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor will deliver a special performance.

James Barker Band will close out the pre-game entertainment with the SiriusXM Grey Cup Kickoff Show. The Ontario country group has had a busy year that included another JUNO Award, its fourth consecutive CCMA Group or Duo of the Year win and a new album, One of Us.

The Grey Cup Festival runs November 11 to 15 and includes a Kick-Off Party featuring The Trews, a Thursday night concert with Alan Doyle featuring The Strumbellas, and a Saturday night country concert whose headliner remains secret.

U2 Announce New Album, ‘Carnaval de Luz,’ Out Nov. 13

U2 will release Carnaval de Luz, their first album of new songs in nine years, on Nov. 13, the band announced today. “It’s an extraordinary collection of songs,” bassist Adam Clayton tells Rolling Stone in interviews for an upcoming feature, “and it’s the culmination of the work that everyone has been doing for 50 years.” U2 first played together in Larry Mullen Jr.’s kitchen on Sept. 25, 1976 — 50 years ago this Friday. Bono describes the album as “anarchic,” which is borne out by a just-released new single, the concise, raging punk tune “Silencio.”

The 12-track album, produced by Garret “Jacknife” Lee, who’s been working with U2 since 2004’s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, closes with “Torn,” featuring the final vocal performance from Dolly Parton, who died last month. Longtime U2 collaborator Brian Eno co-wrote and played synths on three tracks, including the opener, “Go (Carnaval de Luz).” Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid co-wrote “Torn” with Parton and the band, Martin Garrix has a writing credit on the track “Glorify,” and Ryan Tedder is credited with additional production on “Silencio.”

A day after Dolly Parton’s trust accused her nephew of interfering with its business relationships through “threats, intimidation and coercion,” a Tennessee judge granted the estate a temporary restraining order against him, citing a series of emails and other communications that allegedly paired “threats with demands for payment.”

In an order issued Wednesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, Chancellor I’Ashea L. Myles of Nashville Chancery Court directed Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, to stay at least 1,000 feet from estate employees and business partners, remain off private property owned by the estate, and refrain from disruptive or harassing conduct.

New Found Glory has canceled their performance at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, which was set to begin next week, following the death of bandmate Chad Gilbert. In honor of the founding member and lead guitarist, who was a dedicated Disney fan, the band will play their first live shows at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort.

In a statement shared to social media, New Found Glory thanked fans for their support following Gilbert’s death. “Seeing how deeply he touched so many lives means everything to us, and we know he would be so proud to see it,” they wrote.

Taylor Swift’s legal war with real-life Las Vegas showgirl Maren Wade took center stage again Wednesday, with the singer’s lawyers blasting Wade’s trademark infringement lawsuit as “meritless” ahead of an early October hearing on Swift’s bid to toss the case.

“Plaintiff’s overarching assertion that consumers are – or could be – confused into believing that Ms. Swift, a 14-time Grammy Award winner and global musical icon, is the source of or is associated with plaintiff’s podcast, book, or live cabaret performances at golf resorts and RV parks is nonsensical,” Swift’s lawyers wrote in their new filings obtained by Rolling Stone. “The court may dismiss where confusion is unlikely, and the court should do so here.”
