Green Day are back with a rollicking new song, “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.,” which will appear on the soundtrack for the band’s upcoming coming-of-age comedy, Nimrods.

“I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.” harkens back to the earliest days of rock & roll with its “Rock Around the Clock”-style groove, but the crunchy guitar tones and bratty, invincible lyrics are pure Green Day. “The devil’s on my tail but he’s chasing a ghost,” Billie Joe Armstrong wails before launching into a final chorus: “I’m never gonna R.I.P/I’m never gonna R.I.P/Might go down in history cause/I ain’t ever gonna R.I.P.”

Along with releasing “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.,” Green Day shared the full 30-song track list for the Nimrods soundtrack. The album will feature a plethora of Green Day classics, as well as four previously unreleased live recordings from the band’s performance at the Palladium in Los Angeles that’ll be featured in the movie.

Additionally, the soundtrack will boast new music from the fictional group at the heart of Nimrods, Analog Dogs. There’s also music from some of the actual artists appearing in the film, including Ultra Q, the Paradox, and McKenna Grace.

The Nimrods soundtrack is set to arrive July 31 and will be available on CD, cassette, and streaming, with several vinyl variants to boot. The album is available to pre-order on all formats now.

As for Nimrods the movie, it’s set to hit theaters on Aug. 14. The film centers around Analog Dogs, a young pop punk band who travel to Los Angeles under belief that they’ve won the opportunity to open for Green Day at a special New Year’s Eve show. Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, and Ryan Foust star as the members of Analog Dogs, while the cast also boasts Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, and Fred Armisen. The members of Green Day will, of course, all appear in the film, too.

England Player Suffers ‘Serious’ Wrist Injury After Singing ‘Wonderwall’ at World Cup

England advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup last night (July 5) with a dramatic 3 – 2 win over Mexico at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. It was a massive victory as Mexico’s men’s national team has lost just two out of 89 matches at the Azteca, and England played much of the second half with 10 men following a red card in the 54th minute.

As such, the celebrations at the final whistle were immense. As has become tradition, the England players rushed over to their fans, where everyone belted Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” which has become something of an unofficial anthem. But after the singalong, veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson managed to injure his wrist, and had to be stretchered off the field. (Henderson not only hurt himself, but also got a yellow card from the bench, despite not having played a single minute during the game.)

Why Taylor Swift Invited 1,000 Guests to Her Wedding: ‘Everyone I’ve Ever Talked to’

If it seemed like everyone Taylor Swift has ever met attended her wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden that’s because the singer always planned a huge guest list. The couple welcomed hundreds of people to the New York City venue on July 3, including A-listers from the music industry, sports world, and Hollywood.

But, according to an interview with Swift last year, this was the plan all along. The singer appeared on The Graham Norton Show to promote The Life of a Showgirl in October, appearing on the talk show alongside Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Domhnall Gleeson, and Lewis Capaldi. During the interview, host Graham Norton asked if the wedding would take place in 2026.
