Megan Thee Stallion will be departing the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical early. On Monday, the Grammy-winner announced that her final performance as Moulin Rouge’s owner and MC, Zidler, will be on May 1. Megan was originally slated to stay with the production until May 17.

“It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!” said the rapper in a statement posted to Instagram. “Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work! I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL. See you soon.”

It’s still unclear on who will be replacing her. Megan was the first woman to play the role of Zidler, who was previously billed as Harold Zidler.

Megan’s announcement arrives arrives nearly a month after she was transported to a hospital during her performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical and left the show mid-way.

The next day, Megan shared an update on the incident that had her feeling like she was “gonna faint on stage.” “Last night was a real wake-up call for me,” Megan posted on social media. “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t.”

A rep for Megan previously told Rolling Stone that her condition forced her to abruptly end her performance midway and check into the hospital. “On Tuesday evening, Megan was transported to a local hospital to undergo a medical evaluation after experiencing concerning symptoms,” the rep said in a statement. “Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms.”

Megan’s announcement also comes on the heels of her breakup from NBA star Klay Thompson. “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote in an Instagram Stories post on April 25. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????’ Bitch I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”

In a formal statement to People, she said, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” Megan wrote. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
