Kaytranada and deadmau5 Set to Headline Igloofest Montréal 2027

Igloofest has unveiled the first wave of artists for its 19th edition, taking place at Montréal’s Old Port from January 14 to February 6, 2027. KAYTRANADA, deadmau5 and Fatboy Slim are among the headliners, alongside James Hype, KETTAMA, Ninajirachi and Subtronics.

The festival, which this year welcomed over 95 000 attendees, will feature four weekends of electronic music spanning house, techno, dubstep and electrop.

Local icon Kaytranada will kick things off on Thursday, January 14, joined by his brother Lou Phelps, who will get the crowd warmed up. James Hype takes over on Friday, followed by Chris Lorenzo on Saturday, January 16.

The second weekend begins January 21 with British legend and big beat pioneer Fatboy Slim, known for hits including “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Praise You.” Irish DJ and producer KETTAMA follows the next day, while Australian producer Ninajirachi shares the bill with New York duo Frost Children on Saturday, January 23.

French-Swiss producer Mosimann is scheduled for January 28. Two days later, deadmau5 returns to Montréal, preceded by TDJ, the prolific local artist whose productions and DJ sets draw on trance and bass music.

The final weekend features Fcukers on February 4, German producer Boris Brejcha on February 5, and American dubstep artist Subtronics on February 6.

Montréal artists and collectives will once again play a major role in the lineup. Collective Ferias will curate part of the programming on the Vidéotron stage, with British duo Make A Dance closing out its showcase. Local label and event organizer AMPER, Lia Plutonic and Isla Den are also among the announced artists. Collectives KNTC and Hauterageous will represent different facets of Montreal’s underground rave scene, while Sun and Earth will present the duo Hicky & Kalo.

Igloofête also returns on January 16, 23 and 30, as well as February 6.

The festival will once again expand beyond Montréal, with events in three other Canadian cities. Igloofest Gatineau runs February 11 to 13, followed by Igloofest Québec from March 4 to 6. Igloofest Edmonton also returns for its second edition from March 11 to 13.

Harry Styles Finds the Right Words on Liam Payne Tribute Song

For the past seven weeks, Harry Styles has reserved two minutes at each of his Madison Square Garden shows to reflect on the last time he gathered this many people in this room. Four years have passed since he performed 15 record-breaking nights at the venue during his Love on Tour. Now, every night at the new Together, Together shows, which span 30 nights at MSG, he acknowledges that “a lot of life happened to me and landed on me in ways that maybe it hadn’t before.”

Styles doesn’t usually go into much more detail; he typically just describes those in-between years as “a great reminder for me of just how wonderful and beautiful, difficult and inspiring, and also how fragile a life can be.” He encourages the audience to look around at each other and celebrate the community they’ve built together. Then he dives into “Sign of the Times.” It happens every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday like clockwork. But when he delivered this speech on Friday, Oct. 16, there was a shift. It didn’t conclude in its usual way.

Artists Behind Olivia Rodrigo ‘Expectations’ Music Video Debunk AI Accusations

On Friday, Olivia Rodrigo unveiled a music video for the Chappell Roan-assisted remix of “Expectations,” though some viewers believed AI may have been involved in the video’s creative process. However, one of the art team’s designers and Rodrigo’s official fan account showed behind-the-scenes footage featuring hand-drawn 2D and 3D animations, analog treatments, and seemingly no AI involvement. (A rep for Rodrigo did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.)

The AI accusations mainly sparked from a scene beginning around the three-minute mark of the video. In it, a series of retro logos and animations of Rodrigo and Roan fly through the frame. Viewers pointed to the inconsistencies on Rodrigo and Roan’s fingers as possible proof of generative-AI usage in the video.
