In October 2002, Hilary Duff released her holiday album Santa Claus Lane. Twenty-four years later, she’s bringing back the cheer with the EP Holiday Things, out this Friday.

Holiday Things contains three original tracks: “I Guess it’s Christmas,” “All You Want for Christmas Is Me,” and “I Want (A Few Small Things).” She also rerecorded George Michael’s “Last Christmas” (originally on the Santa Claus Lane album), and cut “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” which concludes the EP.

Duff first teased Holiday Things last week on Instagram, when she posted the cover of Santa Claus Lane. “Today Santa Claus Lane turns 24, and it has me reminiscing on all the fun we’ve had around the holidays together over the years,” she wrote. “Let’s do it again this year?”

Earlier this month, Duff released “CATastrophe,” included on the The Cat in the Hat soundtrack. She’s had a busy year, returning to music with the excellent album Luck … or Something, her first record in over a decade. She’s been touring behind the album, and recently revealed 2027 North American tour dates. In December, she’ll play Jingle Ball 2026, where her set will hopefully include these new holiday gems.

Duff recorded Luck … or Something with her husband and collaborator, Matthew Koma. “I do feel like one of my magic tricks is being able to connect with people,” she told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “To be able to reach them and relate to them, and them feel close to me.”

Holiday Things Track List

1. I Guess it’s Christmas
2. All You Want for Christmas Is Me
3. Last Christmas (Mine)
4. I Want (a few small things)
5. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

The 2027 Grammys’ Best Rap Album Nominees May Not Be the Usual Suspects

Leading up to the Grammy nominations on Nov. 16, “Rolling Stone” is breaking down 11 different categories. For each, we’re predicting the nominees, as well as who will (and who should) win on Grammy night.

The Recording Academy’s relationship with hip-hop has improved immensely over the past decade. Previously maligned for snubbing revered legacy artists and culturally acclaimed newcomers in favor of mainstream media darlings, voters have recently placed less emphasis on commercial success and crossover appeal in their selection process.

Harry Styles Finds the Right Words on Liam Payne Tribute Song

For the past seven weeks, Harry Styles has reserved two minutes at each of his Madison Square Garden shows to reflect on the last time he gathered this many people in this room. Four years have passed since he performed 15 record-breaking nights at the venue during his Love on Tour. Now, every night at the new Together, Together shows, which span 30 nights at MSG, he acknowledges that “a lot of life happened to me and landed on me in ways that maybe it hadn’t before.”

Styles doesn’t usually go into much more detail; he typically just describes those in-between years as “a great reminder for me of just how wonderful and beautiful, difficult and inspiring, and also how fragile a life can be.” He encourages the audience to look around at each other and celebrate the community they’ve built together. Then he dives into “Sign of the Times.” It happens every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday like clockwork. But when he delivered this speech on Friday, Oct. 16, there was a shift. It didn’t conclude in its usual way.

Muna Safe After Tour Bus Catches Fire on California Highway

A tour bus carrying the members of Muna caught fire on the freeway in Burbank, California, on Monday. The scene was captured on camera by local station KTLA, which reported the incident shut down several lanes on the busy roadway.

The station said the driver reportedly did not realize the bus was on fire when the California Highway Patrol got a call at 8:00 a.m. about a flaming bus on the southbound 5 freeway. After the bus pulled over on an offramp, the Burbank Fire Department was able to put out the fire.
